Happy 3rd Birthday Micah!!!

October 23rd we celebrated Micah's 3rd Birthday with close friends and family. We celebrated at Just For Kicks, just outside Aurora in Plainfield. It was such a cute party, all the kids had a blast.
It all started with an adorable invite thanks to my amazingly talented friend Abbi. Thank You we love you and your family!
I made this adorable sign.

Thanks to my amazing friend Erin and sister Katie we decorated the party room with blowup soccer balls and hints of green. It turned out so cute the pictures just don't do it justice. Our take home favors were these cute soccer cups and goodie bags. The cups were a hit and the kids were crazy for the treats. I also made chocolate covered pretzels and marshmallows on a stick. The kids went nuts for them thus i have no pictures :)

I made this cute shirt (Allwyn wasn't crazy about it) for Micah to wear to his party. Whats not to love he's 3!

Present time :) Micah was getting into the bags so fast i couldn't keep up.
The party was a hit from the fun activities to the yummy food. I couldn't have done it without a great husband and awesome friends. Especially you Erin, you're the BEST!!! Love you and your boys. Micah was so excited when he woke on Saturday and found a special guest had come for his party. Auntie Katie!!! Thanks Katie for all your help with Josiah and thanks for giving us a weekend from your busy college schedule.
Lastly, Thank you to my amazing husband who drove to pick Katie up after work on Friday and for all your help with the party. And for putting up with my crazy party planning. You have just 6 months until Josiah turns 1 and i get crazy again. Love YOU!!!

Kuipers Family Farm

Once again this year we made a trip to Kuipers Family Farm with our friends. Last year the 3 of us each had one little boy fast forward to this year we all have two. It's so wonderful to share motherhood with these amazing women and their boys! I took a lot of pictures of Micah having fun! Here are just a few...

Micah LOVED the corn box. He was rolling around in it and having a blast. He got so dirty that he needed a bath when we got home!Micah enjoyed picking out three pumpkins. They are so cute and perfect. I'll have to post pictures of them later, I forgot to take some. He was so proud that he pulled the wagon and picked them out all by himself.
We also enjoyed some very yummy donuts but somehow i didn't get any pictures of that either, or my Josiah! How does that happen?

Jeep

Okay, so i always said i would never buy Micah a jeep but we did. For his 3rd Birthday we decided to get him one. We got it and put it together last week and kept it in the basement until Saturday after nap. We decided to let him have it early because it was such a beautiful weekend. We wanted him to ride it before the weather got to cold. So, we wrapped it up and let him have at it.

This picture was taken right before he ran into the pine tree on the side of the house. Micah has a hard time keeping his eye on the road and turning the wheel at the same time. He'll get the hang of it soon.

'Lookers'

When I picked Micah up yesterday from school he was so excited to show me his 'lookers.' He told me that he went on a 'looker' hunt in his classroom. He loves making projects at school. I can't believe how much hes grown. Here are some pictures of Micah and his 'lookers.'

My New Friend

My little guy is growing fast! He recently started eating rice and oatmeal cereal. Just 2 days ago we tried some avocado. He's not so sure about the avocado but i'm sure in time he begin to enjoy it (so i hope) This weekend when we take out regular family trip to the fruit and veggie store we're going to shop for something new. Fruits and veggies to make Josiah baby food. I'm so excited because i have a new friend that is going to help me make Josiah's food. Her name is thr BEABA babycook. She steams and blends the veggies in one chamber. She's even BPA free and dishwasher safe.
These are the great freezer cups to store the baby food in.

The joyful boy thats going to enjoy all this yummy food. Yes, he has a scratch on his head, his nails grow so fast. And yes those are blocks all over the floor behind him. Allwyn assures me that this is normal. Micah enjoys building a zoo and making cages for his animals out of any and all of the blocks he can find. If he wakes up from nap and they are put away he is so upset!

Stay at home Mommy

Three years ago i said goodbye to my classroom and hello to mommy-hood. Three years ago i was 32 weeks pregnant and had decided to take 8 weeks to prepare for my little blessing (Micah). I said goodbye to my students and packed up my stuff. Just 2 weeks later we welcomed Micah into the world. How my life has changed all for the better :)
Gone are the days of writing lesson plans and preparing for lessons and activities. (i do miss my students and the great laughs we shared.) Now, i plan play dates and play taxi cab. Micah is growing so fast, He'll be 3 in just 2 short weeks. He keeps us laughing and wondering what he'll do next. Here just a few of the silly things he's done lately.

We put Micah down the other night when i hear him talking in his room off and on. After an hour i decided to go check on him and remind him that it was sleeping time. Well, what i found was a little shocking. When i entered the room he told me that he went to the bathroom so i turned on the lights. I found him laying in his bed with nothing on. When i said, 'What are you doing?' He said, "I'm hot mommy i sleep naked.' i was in such shock i told him not to move and that i was going to get his father. When Allwyn came up we couldn't stop laughing.

Another night we were working on a special gift for Micah out in the garage, the boys were in bed sleeping or so we thought. I decided to crack the door so i could hear if the boys needed us. I then heard a child talking and i thought to myself who lets their child stay up this late and play. Well, to my surprise it was my child. I came in and he was sitting on the couch watching tv. He said, 'Mommy you forgot to turn off the lights when you went to bed.' I then took him back up to his room. He didn't fall asleep for another 30 minutes.

After our late night we had a rough morning. What was so rough you ask. Well, understanding that once you stick a sticker to paper it won't come off. We even called Auntie Katie to help us understand that if you don't stick it to yourself then it won't come off. We finally ate lunch and felt a little better and stuck another 30 stickers on a box.

That silly stuff aside we're busy planning Micah's 3rd birthday party. He's very excited and can't wait to have cake a cheese balls with his friends. I told him we're having pizza too but, he told me no i wants chicken nuggets so i'll have to see how i can make that work. Stay tuned for details on Micah's party and lots of pictures.

School

My Big boy Micah has started school. Okay, he started a month ago and I'm just now getting around to posting the pictures. He was so excited to see his teachers and friends. He has the same teachers he did last year. His friend Charlie is in his class, so there are 2 Charlies. I'm so proud of him. He comes home telling me how much fun he has. Thank you Ms. Kelly, Kathy and Georgia, we love you you're the best!
Micah on his first day waiting to load up in the van. We don't have any pictures of Micah before school outside the building because he's a big boy now and does the drop off line. (I've even caught him playing 'drop off line' with his animals.)
Micah and his best pal Charlie. They have so much fun together. This is Micah's second day of school outside the playground. The boys had a great day at school.
