Walk A Mile in My Shoes...

On February 12th, I'll be walking in the fifth annual Walk A Mile in My Shoes Aurora. It's a one mile walk thats organized by Wayside Cross Ministries that helps at-risk youth and the ministry's transitional living ceneter for homeless women and children. Happy 30th Birthday Erin!!!

On Saturday one of my best friends celebrated her 30th Birthday. Allwyn and i were able to have a night out without the kids (thanks Morrison and Purvi.) We all met for dinner at Bien Trucha, in Geneva, then we headed over to the little owl. Dinner was great and it was nice to spend time with friends. Here are a few pictures from the night.

I've been crafting...

I've been crafting a lot lately while the boys sleep. I love all this girlish stuff. Since i don't have a daughter of my own I've been enjoying making these bows and tutus for friends kids. (if you want one or some just let me know and i'll craft you up some) :)

It's hard to tell but this tutu is super cute, white tool with purple ribbon through out. So Adorable!

Micah's super excited for his Valentines day party with friends so we've been decorating. I made this heart wreath for our door.

Yes, thats my little in a pink hat. (thanks Grandpa) Micah was so excited to put it on Josiah and have his picture taken. I think Josiah was screaming PINK WHAT????

Tonight's a BIG night for one of my Best friends, it's her birthday, lots of pictures to come!

Only My Child

So, I picked Micah up from school today and like always we rushed to the bathroom for one last try before our drive home. When we came out i was putting his coat on and i heard his teacher say, 'Oh, Mary Beth i have to talk to you.' I thought oh no what happened. She then told me that Micah informed her during free play today that some children were being naughty, then he asked her why they were so naughty. Then he told her that he can't play with naughty children. After turning 5 shades of red i told her i was sorry. She said, 'oh no hes such a good boy, hes never naughty.' I guess hes heard me say to many times not to make the same choice as 'that child' or to make the right choice and not to be naughty. Only my child would actually tell his teacher. Oh My!

Micah's 1st Sleepover

Last night Micah had his first sleepover with his cousins Caleb and Shayna. Micah was so excited to have his cousins stay the night at his house. He talked about it for days before they arrived. When they arrived last night he couldn't stop smiling. He loved showing them all his toys and projects. We colored, played play doh, stamped and not to forget the karate.
I decided to let the kids stay up late in hopes that they would be so tired they wouldn't make trouble. Well, 9 rolled around very quickly and they were still full of energy. We sat down for a quiet game and headed up for bed. Micah was trilled that his cousins were sleeping on his bedroom floor. And wouldn't you know the child who caused the most trouble was my son. He must have gotten up 10 times between bathroom breaks and drinks. (He was so excited) Finally around 10:30 i think that everyone fell asleep.
The kids were all up early and each had their own version of the nights events. We had chocolate chips muffins and blueberries for breakfast and got ready for the morning. Micah and Shayna have a music class on Monday mornings, so Caleb and Josiah came along for the ride. All and all it was a blast. Micah's already talking about his next sleepover.
Sadly, i didn't take a single picture, we'll just have to each remember our own version of the events :)

Happy 10th Anniversary to My Husband

I've been excited to celebrate this day for awhile. 10 years ago today i married my best friend. I feel so blessed to have Allwyn as my husband and the father of my children.
There's so much i want to share about our last 10 years as a married couple but I'm super tired from my long day but, i couldn't go to sleep without acknowledging my Anniversary.

Back to School We Go

Today was Micah's first day back to school since Christmas break. I was really worried about how it would go since hes potty training. Tuesday morning after i drop Micah off Josiah and i head over to bible study, so i worried the whole time about how it was going. And, I'm so excited to announce that Micah did it, he used the potty twice at school and stayed dry in between. He was so excited to show me the big potty at school. We were really late to school today because we had to use the potty before we left and the weather was bad. Micah did so good!!! I'm so proud of him. He's really becoming a big boy, how i love him :)
I can hear him up in his room right now (he should be napping) he's so excited because when he wakes he gets to go help shovel the driveway. Hopefully I'll have pictures to post of him using his new shovel later.

Friday with Friends

Last Friday afternoon after nap i packed the boys up to go visit our friends Deborah and Jaden. We had a great time like we always do. We had a great dinner at a local Indian restaurant then went back to their house to play. Micah had a great time with Jaden, he really enjoys playing with him. Jaden is amazing with both the boys, I'm so thankful for their friendship.





~side note, we're still working on potty training and i think we still have some days ahead of us. Micah's trying very hard to remember to tell us when he has to use the potty. I know he'll get it. I'm looking forward to that day :)
