Time for a quick update... full update to come soon!!!

The boys and i have been very busy.  I wish i had more time to keep track and make notes of everything that we've been up to.  Most recently i took the boys and their friend Charlie to see Alvin and the Chipmunks live.  The show was actually a lot of fun.  I bought the tickets the Monday before the show so our seats weren't the greatest.  When we arrived i realized i had printed the tickets out going the wrong direction which cut off the bar codes.  I went over to the box office and the guy was so generous (he probably thought man this women is brave taking 4 crazy boys out in the snow) he upgraded our seats to the 6th row behind the orchestra right in the middle.  The boys all had a great time as did i.  Here are a few pictures from our adventure...

I've also finally finished decorating the house for Christmas...

I have tons of pictures to share... I just uploaded over 1200 from my phone so i'll start sharing those soon.

Blessed

It's been awhile since i posted last.  So, I'm going to try really hard to keep up now that the boys are back in school and we're trying to create a new routine.  I feel so blessed right now in the place that i'm at.  The boys are enjoying school and doing great.  They've also adjusted very well to all the new changes that have taken place.  Children really are resilient and my boys are a perfect example of that.  We all have our weak moments but that's to be expected.  Dinner is calling my name so more and hopefully pictures to follow later.

Summer has Started

Well, summer is officially in full swing. The boys and i have already kept very busy this week.  We have made stops to the club house pool, the zoo and even found a few new parks.  My plan is to jam as much fun and adventure into each day which will only lead to a win win for us both... Good Sleep!
It's been a bit of an adjustment for everyone this week if i'm honest.  Micah is trying to get used to being with his brother all day long... his brothers are SO excited to have him home.  I'm just trying to get a good rhythm going, I've ventured out on a few runs with all 3 boys... 2 in the jogging stroller and Micah on his bike.  Pushing that stroller makes my running double difficult... (I may need to have the tough pretty girl talk with myself)
The boys are super excited because tonight we are having 'Movie Night' with our neighbors.  We've already picked out candy for the concession stand and personalized popcorn containers for each child.  (i'll post pictures tomorrow, they turned out so cute) Micah is sitting next to me creating movie tickets for each guest.  I've also printed out some cute coupons for each child to cash in for candy, popcorn, drinks and a special treat.
Here's to starting summer with a bang and new adventures that still await

Josiah's Birth Story... And so much more...

On May 4, 2010 at 8:02 a.m., I welcomed a sweet boy weighing in at 5lbs 2 oz, 18 1/4 inches long.  He didn't actually have a name until just an hour before i brought him home.

I guess i should start from the beginning...  I had been seeing my doctor very regular for non stress test to keep stats on babies progress due to Micah's emergency delivery.  She sent me to see a specialist for a few extra tests on a Thursday and sent me home.  Just a few hours later Dr. Fesenmyer called me herself and said... Mary Beth were going to deliver you day of 37 weeks which is this Monday.  I was actually driving to meet a friend, i burst into tears because i didn't really know why or what was going on.  I met with Dr. Fesenmyer on Friday to go over everything.  That weekend was crazy i had a ton of things to get done but as silly as it was getting my hair colored was at the top of my list.  I wanted to also savor every last minute of Micah, little Micah being my only baby.
Sunday night one of my best friends came to the house to stay with Micah so in the morning he could go to school and keep with his routine.  I think back and feel so blessed that she was willing to do that.  I didn't sleep a wink all night and woke VERY early to head out.  I knew exactly what was going to happen this time so i was not only scared but excited.  I'll spear you the last photo of my belly but one would have guessed a bigger baby was in there.
This time they had me walk to the operating room, and climb up onto the table.  I actually had the same nurse support me through my spinal as when i had Micah.  They then helped me lay back.  I remember feeling fear run through my body and being so alone.  I didn't know what it was like to have a healthy baby come back to my room with me.  The nurse reassured me that this time would be very different and my baby would go to recovery with me.  My doctor entered the operating room, his name was Dr Hussey, he and Fesenmyer were going to so the c-section together (she actually wasn't there so it was Hussey and another doctor) He came in and said a few words and then took a seat to my left and waited till everyone was ready.  My anesthesiologist was at my head talking me through the whole process.  (he was my saving grace all three times) They actually start cutting before they bring dad in.  The sounds and smells in the operating room are one hard to get out of your head.  Then, after a lot of pressure on your chest you hear the greatest sound.  When i heard Josiah cry for the first time i too cried.  It was pure joy.  They bundled him up and brought him over to me.  I was able to kiss him and tell him how much i loved him.  Within a few minutes baby and dad were gone and i was once again alone.
After they finished up i was brought to recovery.  This time was very different because i was able to be with my baby.  I just remembering him screaming... a lot of screaming.  They had me up and walking that evening, which was crazy.  I highly recommend binding if you have a c-section it helps with support greatly, a nurse after i had Micah did it for me the first time.
Later that day, My sister arrived as did Micah.  Micah was actually very excited to meet his brother.  My sister and good girlfriend Karyn spent a lot of time with me in the hospital over the next few days.  I really don't know what i would have done without them.  And like i said finally on the last day Josiah was Josiah and not just baby Satvedi.
Going from one to two was actually very easy for me.  It also helped that the weather was nice and we were able to spend time outside.  My sister Katelyn also moved in later that month so i had someone to help me out.

Ready to head home... he was so tiny
He looked like a sweet little old man

Josiah you are such am amazing boy.  I feel blessed to have you as my own.  I can't always tell what you're thinking but i know if its quiet i should probably go check on you.  You're the most affectionate boy i know and i wouldn't change a thing about you.  I Love You!

May is almost here

Our May calendar is filling up very fast.  So, if you want us to fit you in then you better act fast.  Josiah is over the moon with excitement that his birthday is just around the corner.  I simply can't believe hes going to be 5!  Where has the time gone?  I keep reminding the boys that this month is not all about Jo but that i too have a birthday this month.  They don't really seem to care!  BOYS!

Last week i worked with Jen another mom and friend at the preschool on teacher appreciation books.  They turned out really cute and the kids had some sweet and silly things to say about their teachers.

You may be wondering what a box of crayons and a drill have in common... well, when a crayon gets stuck and we couldnt get it out yes, we drilled a screw into in and voila we pulled it out.
Our fruit and veggie bars are back and stocked in the freezer at all times.  Just don't tell the boys what I'm really feeding them.
Here is a sneak peek at Saturday.  I've been working for over a week on all the tiny details.  The boys are all excited for the say to come.  I still remember my 5th birthday party (my grandma made me a cake with a whale on it) so, i hope Jo has an amazing day.  He really is an amazing spunky guy.  More on his birth story to come early next week.

What was in the box?

I dropped this adorable box filled with goodies in the mail for a very special couple.  Whats in the box you ask?  Well, i'm calling it a baby making kit.  Some of the items included are blue panties and pink panties, chocolates, candles, mints, handcuffs, condoms with holes in them and pregnancy tests to check their progress.  This may seem like a silly gift but who doesn't enjoy a good giggle? Not to mention the excitement of snuggling a sweet baby.

Happenings Around the House

Let me just start by saying that sometimes i feel like I'm living an out of body experience.  My Boys are amazing but sometimes i just need a little time to myself...  Okay, so i said it... i need recharge time...  Here's whats been happening in our lives...
I'm NOT Lion, i totally forgot it was picture day and this was the end result... Great Job mom!
We've been enjoying the great weather which means lots of park play dates.  My boys LOVE the sand (i don't) So we've packed up our sand toys and they now reside in the back of the van, along with a trail of sand.
This box filled with blue and pink tissue paper makes my heart happy and sing a happy tune (don't get any ideas i have NO news) I'll share more details once i get confirmation this special box has arrived to its very special recipient.

Micah insisted that i take a picture and capture his elephant and giraffe pizza for the word to see.  Most of you know that Fridays are Pizza movie night for the boys and i.  We usually order pizza but last Friday they requested we make pizza.  They remembered once we made animal shaped pizzas so the request was made and here was the end results!!!
A couple of my good girlfriends had been telling me for weeks that i needed to rent the movie Mom's Night Out.  So the other day after grocery shopping i checked the red box and there it was.  So i watched the movie, it was cute.  The first few minutes of the movie felt like they captured my everyday perfectly.

I did get a very sweet compliment this morning during pre-school drop off about what a great mom i am and what a great job i'm doing with my boys which always helps.  I'm also busy planning Josiah's 5th birthday party.  The invitations are out and everyone is getting very excited.  Party planning has always been my thing... lately i've been slacking so it's time to kick it up a notch.  (i have less than 2 weeks so i better work fast)

Today's Lunch Date

So, today after volunteering in the library at Micah's school i joined Micah for lunch.  While catching up with all the kids and hearing their stories about the weekend one of the little boys dropped a bomb on me.  He said, 'So i've been reading your blog.'  I didn't really know what to say because i wasn't sure which blog he was referring to.  I then asked a few more questions and realized he wasn't just reading my current posts but went into the archives and read a lot!  He knew about Micah being cheese one year for Halloween and about vacations we had taken.  I think he kept to Thanks  Heaven for Little Satvedi Boys and maybe Satvedi.com  I didn't realize i needed to filter what i was saying because my boys friends would be searching us.  I guess now i know.  Happy Monday!!!

Fun Friday...

Today was fast moving and fun, so I'm calling it Fun Friday!  Micah's class had a field trip that i had the opportunity to chaperone.  We were headed to the Paramount Theater in downtown Aurora to see Junie B Jones.  I rushed the two younger boys off to school to then get Micah on the bus so that i could head back home to get ready for my big adventure with 1st grade.  Anyone who knows me one of my first thoughts was what do i wear.  After some thought i finally pulled together a fun but totally kids theater production outfit.
Linen pants are always cute and totally comfortable, and a peplum top always puts some pep in a girls step :)

I'm so thankful for my dear friend Cherie for helping me with the boys today.  I met her at the house and handed her the keys to the van so she could pick up Noah and Josiah from school.  I then headed to the school.  Upon my arrival i was put in charge of 6 1st graders.  When i walk in the room all the kids know me but not by my name but as "Micah's Mom"  They all have to greet me and i have to return the favor it a hello or wave.  We then loaded 2 classes per bus and headed out.
I got this adorable picture of Micah and his best bud Neil during the ride.

The show was cute but the last 10 minutes or so the kids became very restless.  The wait to load our bus was also alittle rough on the kids but, my 6 dad an amazing job!
I returned home to Cherie doing dishes and cleaning up, i'm so blessed to have such amazing friends.
When i told the boys that they could go out and play in the year this is how Noah dressed.  Doesn't every boy wear shark rain boots and their most eligible bachelor shirt to play???  As i type the boys are actually digging a huge hole in the grass to 'make' mud.  So, i better wrap this up fast...
I'm Super excited because i get to see my sweet sister Katie today!!!  The boys and i are so excited to have her.  She's helping me with the boys tomorrow so i can go to class (tomorrow is presentation day!)... I'm so excited and then onto new adventures!
Happy National Siblings Day!!!

Spring Break 2015

Spring Break was last week and the boys and i kept VERY busy.

Day 1:  We went down to the Naperville river walk and played at the park and rode bikes and scooters along the river and then headed to the rainforest cafe for lunch.  We were joined by our neighbor Lauren, she's such a sweet girl and we feel so lucky to have her and her family as a part of our lives.

Micah managed to get stuck in this old baby toy.  When the kids called me down to the basement to help him i thought they were joking but they weren't.  He was really stuck, so after taking a picture for future embarrassment i helped him get out.

Day 2:  We spend day 2 at the Shedd Aquarium.  The boys just love the Shedd and never get tired of wandering around and seeing at that it has to offer.  We also enjoyed lunch at my favorite the Pasta Bowl.  On our way home i noticed a noise i hadn't heard before when breaking so we made a quick trip over to the dealer.  Turns out i needed new breaks.... So the boys and i hung out at the mall while they fixed the breaks on the van.  They enjoyed a train ride, the carousel and pretzels.

Midweek i did this... After a long run i through my shirt in the wash with the garage door opener still in the pocket but wouldn't you know it still worked even after a trip through the washer and dryer :)

Day 3:  We loaded the mini van and headed to the zoo.  It was a beautiful day to be outside.  Oh and finally the girls out numbered the boys in the car.

Day 4:  I loaded the van and the boys for our trip to Michigan.  We were headed to Visit my sister and her husband in Royal Oak.  The drive is about 5 hours and i usually only have to stop once.  I know i know, we totally over packed.

When we arrived we started working on this adorable cake auntie had planned for the boys to make.

We took a trip down memory lane with these scissors.  Michelle had pulled them out for the boys to use and i felt like i was a kid again.  But of course mine were a bluish purple and white.

Day 5:  We settled in and made a grocery run followed by lunch with Auntie at the boys favorite Chipotle.  Our lunch was a tad interesting but also served as a lesson for Micah.  I ordered him his usual bowl but was disappointed saying that they hadn't given him enough.  I told him if he finished what he had i would get him more.  Well, he finished... i told him he needed to wait in line and I'd meet him up at the counter when it was his turn.  There was a young man in front of him, when he went to pay his card snapped in two.  I told the young man that his lunch was on me, Micah was somewhat annoyed that i had done this.  I tried to explain that sometimes we go out of our way to help others even if we don't know them.  Well while Micah was finishing his lunch the manager came out with a bag full of chips a guacamole to thank me.  That's when Micah finally realized that when you help others people appreciate your kindness and will return the favor. We then finished out evening with dinner at rainforest cafe, where i once again worked my magic and got us seated even though their wasn't a reservation available for another 2 hours.  It wasn't really magic but kindness :)

Day 6:  We woke very early and headed over to the Detroit Zoo for bunnyville.  The boys were very excited to feed the giraffes and hunt for eggs.  Well, to their disappointment neither happened but they did love all the animals that they did see.  The giraffe feeding was cancelled because of the cold weather and the egg hung wasn't really a hunt.  There were 100 golden eggs hidden around the zoo and if you found one you got a prize.  But the boys did enjoy bunny games and Micah even got his face painted like a bunny.

The boys each got to choose something from the gift shop.  As you see below the two older boys choose new animals and Noah choose a wooden train (not pictured)  The boys also wore their Michigan State shirts to support uncle Adams team.

Some of us slept better than others.  The one who didn't sleep well was me :(  I ended up on the wood floor next to Jo most of the one night and was in and out of bed the other nights due to calls from Jo

Day7: Happy Easter.  The boys enjoyed finding eggs that were hid all over auntie and uncles house before heading over to my grandfathers for a brunch.  The boys did a great job!

Day 8: We headed home.

The Wednesday before spring break we were invited by friends to a pre screening of 'Home'  It was a really cute movie and i totally suggest seeing it.
Last but not least over the weekend i found out that I'm not the only Moon girl who has an issue with car washes.  I guess i share this phobia with my big sister.
